# 0xPledges

### [0xPledges](https://0xpledges.com/) is a new type of onchain accountability application. 

Pledges combine the data from your favorite offchain applications with the power of smart contracts to create real and meaningful accountability. Pledges hold you to your goals while also enabling the direct ownership of your data.

0xPledges is an application we've incubated at Portex to advance our mission of making data an **explicit asset** that can be directly owned and controlled by the users who produced it. 

The data labels crowdsourced from Pledges are written into [vaults](https://docs.portexai.com/portex-docs/core-concepts/data-vaults), user-owned wallets for data, and can be optionally sold in our [marketplace](https://docs.portexai.com/portex-docs/core-concepts/data-agent) to train models like [Wilbur](/wilbur.md) on the likelihood of an address being controlled by a human.
